What is 3D Yoga?

Life is three dimensional not just in the ‘body mind spirit’ sense but because your body moves three dimensionally.  Whenever you are moving your bones and muscles rotate and move forward and backward and side to side all at the same time. 3D Yoga helps your body deal with the everyday forces, such as gravity and ground reaction force, which affect us all whenever we move.

What are the benefits?

3D yoga works on strength, mobility and flexibility, coordination and balance, not in the traditional way, as separate issues, but all combined to mirror and enhance how you move in the real world.

Why it’s different and better than normal yoga.

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word "Yuj" and means 'union' between the mind, body and spirit, through the practice of postures, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation.  Yoga is a spiritual quest but along the path the aspirant gains health, happiness, tranquillity, knowledge and an encouragement to continue their practice.

3D Yoga combines the ancient wisdom of yoga with an understanding of three dimensional human movement. A 3D Yoga trained instructor will be empowered to select the most appropriate movements and exercises  for a class and how to 'tweak' exercises for the benefit of each individual.

How it evolved.

There have been huge advances in performance enhancement and the treatment of injury due to a new three dimensional understanding of human movement and biomechanics.  3D Biomechanics educator Simon Whitnall and  yoga teacher Vicky Holmstock created 3D Yoga to make the benefits of this new understanding accessible to all.
