Ante-natal Yoga

Ante-natal yoga is a fantastic way to stay fit and healthy throughout your pregnancy. To learn breathing techniques that will assist in labour and to equip yourself to cope with the changes occurring in your body. Most importantly the relaxation will give you time to rest and to bond with your baby away from the pressures of the outside world.

The postures and breathing techniques taught are specifically designed to strengthen and open the body in preparation for the birth. You can alleviate aches and pains and boost your circulation helping to fight against fluid retention. Keeping the body in great physical condition during pregnancy will ultimately promote recovery after the baby is born. Yoga is recommended for women in their second trimester and can be continued to full term.

We can offer private yoga lessons or alternatively will be happy to run group sessions. Please get in touch to discuss your individual requirements.

Useful Information Before You Attend Class

Please take a minute to read the following information which will make your experience in classes more enjoyable.

  • Please advise your teacher if you have any health conditions, injuries or are pregnant. This will enable us to advise you on alternative postures and ensure you stay safe
  • It is advisable not to eat for around 2 hours before class although a snack is ok.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing and have a something warm to wear for relaxation at the end of practice
  • Please try to arrive a few minutes early for class so that you can begin in a relaxed frame of mind.
  • Please switch off your mobile phones
